It all starts with inventive spirit. Our work stems from this drive.
KECKEX Origin Story It all started with chewing gum removal in front of grocery stores.
10 years ago, Michael Keckeis was commissioned as a service provider to remove the annoying patches in front of stores using a hot water steam device. When he briefly drove over the lawn with it, he noticed that the grass there had died. This gave rise to the idea of developing a device that destroys weeds chemical-free, in a 100% natural way.
As an innovator and free spirit, he developed the prototype of a weed removal machine in his father-in-law's garage in 2015. This was the cornerstone for the later KECKEX GmbH and for further developments and patented solutions.
The rapid development of KECKEX did not go unnoticed: In 2021, we were awarded the Bronze Export Prize by the WKO, at the Austrian State Prize 2022 ECONOVIUS, we were nominated among the top 5 out of more than 50 companies, and in 2023, we won the Vorarlberg Innovation Award.

Philosophy
At KECKEX, we are convinced that innovation should happen in an environmentally friendly way. We invent and design our products according to this principle, thereby supporting the transition to environmentally friendly processes. This applies to the municipal, agricultural, and private sectors alike. Furthermore, we know our innovations and products inside out. Every step, from design to assembly, takes place in-house at KECKEX.
Natural
Sustainable and environmentally friendly. The KECKEX method is the most efficient way to naturally remove weeds. A hot water-steam mixture ensures that weeds on the treated surface are combated just as effectively as their root system.
Effective
Water as the basis. KECKEX is the only system on the market that enables weed removal, chewing gum removal, cleaning and disinfection, as well as plant irrigation with one and the same system – 100% chemical-free. With our team of experts, we develop individual solutions in-house.
Modular
Multifunctional superstructures or self-propelled devices. Our products are divided into modules that can be assembled in various configurations. We can couple our system with all municipal vehicles and other vehicles. Discover your special product combination or application possibilities.
Method
The KECKEX product system relies exclusively on the properties of heated water. This makes our method the most natural form of weed control possible: a hot water-steam mixture of up to 130° C ensures that weeds on the treated surface are combated just as effectively as their root system. Since our accessories are completely sealed, the steam is enclosed. This creates an atmosphere of over 100°C, preventing the water from cooling down between leaving the nozzle and hitting the ground. The heat triggers a protein shock in the plant, destroying the cell wall. As a result, the plant can no longer absorb water, causing it to dry out. Depending on the vegetation, the weeds wither away after just a few applications.
